September is a key month for our school. The 17th is the Mid-Autumn Festival, a significant event in China. On the 26th, we celebrate the 74th anniversary of our school, and on the 28th, we commemorate the birth of Confucius and Teachers’ Day. To honor these, our school held a “three-in-one” celebration on the 25th and 26th (Wednesday and Thursday).
The first day was led by the Student Council Organization, and the second day was dedicated to faculty and staff. The event was simple yet meaningful, with students, parents, staff, and alumni gathering to celebrate. There were constant cheers and applause, creating a joyful atmosphere.
On the first day, the Student Council arranged entertainment and prepared words of blessing to express gratitude to the teachers. At 9 a.m. the next day, the school held a thanksgiving mass, presided over by Father Wang Yuhang, Vice Principal of the Chinese Department of Chongde School. At 10 a.m., the official celebration began with a speech by President Dr. Huang Sihua. He highlighted that the three-in-one celebration has become a significant event for our school. This year, alumni athletes who represented the school in the Chinese School Alumni Inter-school Football Competition in August and September were specially invited and awarded medals for their achievements. Our human resources officer hosted the event, where the “Excellence Teacher Award” for the 2023-2024 school year was given to seven teachers, along with the “Service Award” for senior teachers who have served the school for 30 years.
At noon, Verleo prepared a rich lunch for the faculty and staff. In the afternoon, the school arranged Mid-Autumn Festival activities, where the joy of the teachers during the dice-throwing activity reached its peak. The day’s activities concluded successfully at 4 p.m.
