- Preschool Program
The PCKHS Preschool Program complies with Republic Act No. 10157 (Kindergarten Education Act) and Republic Act 10533 (Enhanced Basic Education Act), which mandates compulsory Kindergarten education to promote physical, social, cognitive, and emotional skills stimulation and values formation for all five (5)-year old learners to prepare them for Grade 1. The levels are Nursery (up to 3.5 years old), Kinder 1 (up to 4.5 years old) and Kinder 2 (up to 5 years old).
There are four quarters in a school year for Preschool Program
As per RA 10157, the school implements seven (7) areas in the preschool curriculum:
- Language, literacy and communication
- Socio-emotional development
- Values development
- Physical, health and motor development
- Aesthetic/creative development
- Mathematics
- Understanding of the physical and natural environment
The subject areas offered are:
- Reading and Phonics
- Language and Spelling
- Mathematics
- Science (for Preparatory level only)
- Music, Art, Physical Education and Penmanship
- Foreign Language (Chinese A and B)
All learners who completed the Kinder 2 level are promoted to Grade One. There shall be a Moving-Up Ceremony (not graduation) wherein a Certificate shall be issued as proof of completion. Exemplary performance shall also be recognized with awards.
