At 10 am on March 2, our school won the third place in the inter-school lion dance competition, an event during the Chinese Culture Week organized by the Philippine-Chinese Sports Association. This achievement demonstrated the school’s lion dance team’s outstanding level of skills and highlighted the students’ outstanding performance in teamwork and perseverance.
The competition was held at Ayala Malls Manila Bay Activity Center. Many strong teams from various Chinese schools participated in the fierce competition. Our school’s lion dance team stood out in this grand competition and won high praise from the judges for its superb skills and outstanding dance performance. From rehearsal to every stage of the competition, the team members demonstrated unparalleled professionalism and unremitting efforts.
Coach James Quinto Wong said that the third place was inseparable from the hard work and dedication of every team member. They overcame various difficulties and challenges during training, which not only improved their skills but also enhanced team cohesion. The coach especially thanked the school for its strong support and cooperation and believed that the students’ hard work and the school’s unremitting support were important reasons for the good results achieved this time.
Lion dance is a sport rich in traditional cultural characteristics, requiring performers to have strong physical fitness, excellent coordination, and keen artistic sense. Since its establishment, our school’s lion dance team has been committed to inheriting and promoting this traditional culture. Every performance is the result of the team members’ hard work and sweat. In this competition, they not only demonstrated wonderful dance moves but also skillfully combined tradition and innovation, giving the audience a refreshing experience.
On the day of the competition, our school’s lion dance team made the whole place boil with their carefully choreographed movements and tacit cooperation. Every jump, flip, and drum beat was full of power and beauty. The team members’ expressiveness and professionalism won applause from the audience. Especially in the demonstration of difficult movements, the team members’ precise movements and smooth coordination were breathtaking, and the judges were also impressed.
Principal Huang Sihua said that the success of this competition is inseparable from the school’s emphasis on sports and cultural education. He emphasized that the school will continue to support the development of the lion dance team and provide students with more platforms to showcase themselves.
