Since 2015, the “Impression Fuzhou” competition has been successfully held for five editions, becoming an important platform for overseas Chinese youth to inherit outstanding Chinese culture and tell the story of Fuzhou, the capital of Fujian Province. In order to further promote the understanding and awareness of their hometown among overseas Chinese youth and respond to the requests of overseas compatriots, organizations, and Chinese youth, the sixth edition of the “Impression Fuzhou” competition was officially launched in April 2023.
The competition, themed “Impression Fuzhou,” includes five major categories: calligraphy, painting, essay writing, photography, and Mandarin speech. Its goal is to allow overseas Chinese youth to explore Fuzhou’s culture, narrate the stories of Fuzhou, unearth creative potential, and witness the ever-changing developments in their hometown. In December, the results of the competition were finally revealed, and six students from our school performed excellently, bringing honor to our school.
Wang Shiyi and Wang Hanyu received Excellent Work Awards in the Calligraphy category, Qi Jiawei and Jiang Meizhen received Excellent Work Awards in the Photography category, Huang Huangwei received an Excellent Work Award in the Painting category, and Shan Zizheng received an Excellent Work Award in the Essay Writing category. The teachers guiding these awarded students include Vice Chairman Huang Hao from the Fuzhou Hometown Association in the Philippines and Principal Huang Sihua from our school.
We would also like to express our gratitude to Vice Chairman Huang Hao. His continuous support and contributions have played a crucial role in the development of our school. Our participation in the sixth “Impression Fuzhou” competition and the achievements we have today are a result of Vice Chairman Huang’s encouragement and recognition.
