The Indian Witty Gossip Association and Expressions Learning Resources Pvt. Ltd jointly organized the 17-day Global Peace and Sustainable Development Summit 2024 on April 1st. The theme for the 17 days revolved around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals advocated by the United Nations. These 17 goals are:

3. Good Health and Well-being
4. Quality Education
5. Gender Equality
6. Clean Water and Sanitation
7. Affordable and Clean Energy
8. Decent Work and Economic Growth
9. Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure

11. Sustainable Cities and Communities
12. Responsible Consumption and Production
13. Climate Action
14. Life Below Water
15. Life on Land
16. Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions
17. Partnerships for the Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals call for action from all countries, regardless of whether they are poor, wealthy, or middle-income, to promote economic prosperity while protecting the planet. The goals indicate that eliminating poverty must go hand in hand with a series of strategies, including promoting economic growth, addressing social needs such as education, health, social protection, and employment opportunities, curbing climate change, and protecting the environment.
Inspirational Approach: “Proposing Solutions to Literacy and Numeracy Issues in the Philippines” mentioned that the main causes of literacy and numeracy issues in the Philippines are poverty, lack of family support, resource scarcity, lack of motivation, undiagnosed learning disabilities, and modern technology. Principal Huang also mentioned five major factors from teachers, schools, society, students themselves, and families. Therefore, in the new academic year, the Ministry of Education launched the MATATAG CURRICULUM (Strong Curriculum), which emphasizes focusing on basic skills, simplifying the curriculum, balancing cognitive needs, articulating 21st-century skills more clearly, reducing the scope of learning, strengthening character and peace education, and achieving international standards. After Principal Huang elaborated on each point in detail, he concluded that we need to train students to have a solid foundation in literacy and numeracy, possess 21st-century skills, have nationalism and global awareness, and be prepared to succeed in life.
Finally, the President, Director, and students of Shri Vaishnav University, India, expressed their views and research on quality education. The three-plus-hour event concluded satisfactorily after the host’s summary.
