In the academic year 2023-2024, our school had the privilege of receiving the recommendation from the Filipino-Chinese community’s philanthropist, Ms. Huang Wu Jianmei. As a result, Ms. Pan Huang Du’ai (also known as Pastor Pan’s wife) was appointed as a voluntary Chinese music teacher in our school to assist in establishing a choir. After four months of music classes, a music performance was held on the 25th of December at 3:00 PM. Simultaneously, a Christmas fellowship and celebration took place, with members from the church coming to our school to facilitate the event. Activities ranged from group games to sharing the true meaning of Christmas with the students.
On that day, students performed songs they had learned over the past few months in front of the audience. After listening, everyone was surprised by the students’ ability to learn many Chinese songs in such a short time. It is believed that this experience will greatly contribute to their Chinese language learning.
On the morning of December 17th at 9:00 AM, our school choir was invited to attend a worship fellowship hosted by the church. The choir provided them with a platform to showcase their talents. Thirty-five choir members attended, accompanied by their families. Despite being their first time on stage, their performance was excellent, earning appreciation from the audience. The applause filled the venue, providing significant encouragement to our students. Over the years, our school has been committed to Chinese education reform, aiming to make students love and actively learn Chinese. Therefore, we have implemented various activities conducive to Chinese language learning, hoping that in the future, students will achieve success in Chinese learning and become upright Chinese individuals.
